Calculating pH using Henderson-Hasselbach Equation

The Henderson-Hasselbach equation is a useful guide to predicting the pH value for a buffer solution. This method assumes that both the acid and conjugate base of the acid-base pair comprising the buffer are present in considerable concentration.

.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Select an acid from the Acids radio button group.
  2. Set non zero values for the acid, base and water amounts using the Acid , Base and Water scroll bars respectively.
  3. Click the Calculate pH button to display the pH of the solution.
