Assessment

Personal, student-directed assessment is done via the Self-Check test. Each time a student visits a particular Self-Check, they will be given a new test (up to 3 unique tests) via a database of questions. Note that this component will be used by students to see how well they’re doing.

The browser-based management system, Brooks/Cole Assessment, will provide quizzing and testing set up by instructors. This system will also allow instructors to create tests and quizzes that can be taken on-line or printed for pencil and paper assessment.

For assessment used to determine a student’s grade, we recommend traditional forms of assessment using paper and pencil. To do on-line testing for grading purposes, institutions will need to set up some kind of student validation for security reasons.
