No Obligation
Evaluation
Try The Learning Equation at No Cost for a Full Term!
Any
educational institution interested in evaluating The Learning Equation
may do so at no cost and with no obligation. Simply contact your
local Thomson Learning representative and indicate the course
in which you are interested (i.e., Basic Mathematics, Prealgebra,
Elementary Algebra, or Intermediate Algebra). You will receive everything
you need to evaluate the program: the Course Software, one Instructors
Resource Manual, and one Student Software and Workbook for each
course. You will not be asked to sign any contracts whatsoever,
nor will you be charged for the samples.
Should you choose
to class test The Learning Equation, students must purchase the
Student Software and Workbook. Brooks/Cole Thomson Learning will
not provide these materials gratis to your students. You may evaluate
any or all of The Learning Equation course products for a complete
semester or term as defined by your institution, or as agreed between
you and your Thomson Learning representative (the "Evaluation
Period").
At the end of
this Evaluation Period, we ask that you make your adoption decision.
If you decide not to adopt The Learning Equation, you must return
the Course Software, Instructors Resource Manuals, and Student
Software and Workbooks that were given to you by your Thomson Learning
Representative. You also must remove TLE from you institution's
computer network and all campus installations.
Adopting
The Learning Equation
All Course Products are Yours Even if Adopting for Only One Course!
If you choose
to adopt The Learning Equation for at least one section of one course,
simply contact your Thomson Learning Representative with your
decision. You will be sent The Learning Equation Implementation
Kit, which includes all Course Software and the corresponding Instructors
Resource Manuals and Student Software and Workbooks for all four
course products.
By adopting
The Learning Equation for at least one section of one course, you
have the right to install all The Learning Equation course products
on your institutions network. There is no requirement as to
the number of students that must comprise a section of a course.
You will not be charged for any access to the Course Software on
your institutions network. Thus, students in courses or sections
not using The Learning Equation as the primary course learning material
may use The Learning Equation for supplemental assistance or remediation
at no additional cost.
As long as you
continue to adopt The Learning Equation for at least one section
of one course, you may keep all course products on your institutions
network. In the future, if you decide to drop the adoption of The
Learning Equation, you must return all components of The Learning
Equation Implementation Kit to your Thomson Learning Representative.
You also must remove TLE from you institution's computer network
and all campus installations.
Whats
the Catch?
There is no
catch. We want to make the evaluation and eventual adoption of The
Learning Equation as easy as possible, just as if you were adopting
a textbook. Our revenue is generated in the same manner as if it
were a textbook through sales to students. You can place
your order for The Learning Equation with your bookstore just as
if it were a textbook. And because the Student Software CDs include
Microsoft Windows® and Macintosh versions*, you
dont have to worry about how many of each to order.
*The
Learning Equation is the only courseware product for developmental
mathematics that runs on both Microsoft Windows AND Macintosh
platforms.
