The conversions from radians to degrees or from degrees to radians are not hard to do by hand.  They are probably EASIER to do by hand than by calculator since the calculator methods are going to be dependent on the proper mode setting.  Since it is easy to forget to set the mode appropriately, or forget how to do the change, you are probably better off just learning how to do them by hand.
